It is impossible to live with two teenage daughters without being brainwashed into joining the camisole corps. Most "camis" (as the young persist in calling them) are not for me. They ride up. They sag. Or they behave in other ways that wouldn't give you a good impression of my level of physical fitness. The exception to this problem is Free People's pointelle rib camisole, which is $38 and fits like a dream. It's long enough to cover your stomach. It's short enough not to raise issues about your hips. It is made of comfortable stretchy fabric and has a versatile neckline that makes it possible to pair it with anything from a scoop-neck tee to a button-down shirt. The best color is (improbably) called soil, a murky green that surprised me by working well with virtually any other color. Looking ahead to spring, I bought a light pink one today. The size runs true.
